I've been super busy lately finishing up some work for my business and overhauling my home office. Additionally, I've taken a new position at one of the facilities I train clients at. I'm also winding down my season officiating basketball and prepping for an upcoming seminar I am conducting. Needless to say, I'll be back with many blog entries in the near future. Thank you to those who consistently provide great feedback. You'll hear from me soon...

Taxing Hershey Bars, but not Kit-Kats?!?!
Good article in today's Boston Globe about the proposed tax on candy. Check it out here: http://www.boston.com/bostonglobe/editorial_opinion/oped/articles/2010/02/05/the_sweet_taste_of_taxes/

Muscle and Fat Weight the Same
I had another person recently ask me if muscle weighs more than fat. A pound is a pound- simple as that. Muscle is more dense than fat, thus it takes up less space. This is the reason why people who strength train regularly often look leaner than those who do not. Two people who weigh the same will simply appear differently if only one of them strength trains. This is the chief reason I implore my female clients to really push themselves in the weight room.
Moral of the story: if you truly want to improve your physical appearance, you MUST lift weights.
